Ya get what you pay for

A couple of us got together and were discussing options for adding more lights to our patrol vehicles. After surfing the Internet we came across these lights and were pretty surprised by the price. Seems like it had good reviews over all minus the cables being too short but nothing we couldn't fix. Myself and my partner ordered on set each and got them in the mail pretty quick. The first thing I noticed was that these Lights were tiny compared to the grill lights we already had in our patrol cars(about half as big). The lights came on the metal bracket mount they are pictured with and came with some odd backings. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what they were intended for and ended up just going to the hardware store. These lights do not function on other light boxes and only work with the box provided. The light output isn't bad a night but during the day not so good. I recently noticed that after a few weeks with them on my personal truck the rubber used to seal the light back of the light housing was melting and dripping on my floor. overall for what you pay these are not bad lights. But if your intention is for a full time emergency vehicle then I do not recommend buying these, they work great on your truck but not for the daily use we demand from our lights.

What you really get

The pictures they show make them look alot bigger then they really are.These are not something you want to tie into your existing emergency light system. You cannot simply hitthe power button for them to come on. You must manually select a flash pattern every time. For those ofyou looking to add these to your light switch panel like a patrol car or fire engine, you will be disappointed.I did watch several videos of the lights and they are EXTREMELY bright in the video. Not so much in personunless you are looking at them at the PERFECT angle. Mabye if you engineered your own reflector mount/housing they would be better. For the price I paid for them I cannot complain. Wires are not very long but item works very good. This makes it hard to find a good placement and limits a comfortable place to put it.
