Novelty lighting, not for emergency use

These lights would be acceptable for indoor decoration in a squad house bar or maybe a child's bedroom, a show car, or perhaps even a DJ looking for inexpensive flashing lights could get some use out of them. But these are not emergency warning lights; they are novelties or decorative lights.The control box is very small and would fit in the glove compartment or out of the way under the steering wheel. The light patterns are acceptable and would be great if connected to real emergency lights, unfortunately the lights that ship with the controller are not effective LED warning lights. The connection is quick and simple using the wires provided, but the short pigtail harnesses protruding from the back of the unit is not labeled, however, I just connected the lights heads to four (of the six) harnesses and either I guessed correctly or the control board automatically assigned the signal to the correct heads because they flashed in pairs.As good as the controller is the lights are what make an emergency warning strobe effective; the lights however are this product's downfall. The product description calls these "Ultra Bright Blue and White LED", and while I will concede they are LED's they are not particularly bright, and certainly not "super bright". The problem is that the clear plastic boxes enclosing the LED's are just that, clear plastic boxes, not lenses. Because of this they diffuse the light instead of focusing it. This results in the blue LED being virtually invisible in day light, even when staring straight at the light head. The white light head is visible during the day, but only if you happen to be looking at it, the strobe action will not get anyone's attention as it is barely detectable.At night the lights can be seen, but unlike LED strobes with focused lenses the light does not project, so unless a driver ahead of you catches a flash of light as he looks in the rearview mirror it will not be noticed because what little light is not diffused by the housing will be diffused by your windshield. One upside to the lights as that you don't have to worry about blinding oncoming traffic as the drivers will be able to see the flashing lights but not disturbed by them.As far as mounting in the grill is concerned these lights appear to be for interior lighting purposes. They don't look weatherproof and the wiring does not appear to be very weather resistant and unlikely to withstand the heat under the hood.Pros:PriceControl box and flash patternsEasy to wireCons:They are not emergency warning lightsPractically invisible during the day; do not attract attention at night

Very good craftmanship not cheap.... very very very bright.... easy to assumble.... price was great for what yo get... would tell anyone whom is looking to get these...
